After years of reaching the big game, the Dallas Mavericks never were able to get over that hump. But things were different this season. The high-powered offense and witty patience of the team’s veteran players was enough to take down the Miami Heat. Miami came into this season heavily favored to win due to the key additions of Lebron James and Chris Bosh to the lineup. The series was an interesting one and was competitive for the most part, but the experience and unity of the Dallas squad was too much for the Heat. Congratulations guys. The legendary Roots crew recently hosted their annual picnic in their hometown of Philly. Special guests included Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Beanie Sigel, and Freeway.

It’s all about spreading love and the gift of music! The 2011 Atlanta Jazz Festival is coming and Spread Love is joining the party. The event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 21 at 595 North Event Venue. The festival is a celebration of jazz music and culture as well as its hip hop counterpart. This event is unique in its own right because it will bring jazz musicians and hip hop artists together for one common cause…the love of music. Gangstarr’s Guru (R.I.P.) was one of the first hip hop artists to dabble with jazz music and be successful at it as well. In fact, he was able to muster 3 classic ‘Jazzmatazz’ albums while maintaining his legendary hip hop persona.
