Kwesta aka “Da King Of African Rap” Takes Over SXSW

Recently, HipHopABC.TV was live at Austin, TX for this year’s [2017] SXSW Festival, and we were able to catch up with some of your favorite stars, including some up and coming.

During our stay in Texas, we were fortunate enough to catch up with Kwesta aka “Da King Of African Rap”, who was in town promoting his new album, Dakar 2.

When talent meets persistence the combination can be a force to reckon with. Eight months ago, if you asked anybody outside of Chicago who B Bandz was, they probably wouldn’t know. Since the release of his debut Project “How I’m Coming” this past January, B Bandz performs in front of thousands of new fans on a weekly basis.

When your average 15 year old is spending his weekend playing video games or socializing with friends, B Bandz is either fresh off tour or recording new songs because according to him this is just the beginning. “I am the youngest doing it in my age bracket, period.” B Bandz recently explained to HipHopABC.TV .

Alongside, DJ Lil Corie, fellow high school sophomore, B Bandz has perfected a high energy show set, recently taking his talents to Austin Texas for the SXSW Festival. We caught up with B Bandz after his show at the Core DJ’s stage, his second of 3 shows scheduled in Austin, TX.

B Bandz was scheduled for a mixtape release party shortly after in New Orleans, but his brief stay in Texas was fruitful, various labels and distributors present expressed an interest in partnering with TST for future projects. The Chicago based label has has put all its focus on B Bandz and it is clear he is the best bet if the plan is to win.

B Bandz is also an exceptional basket ball player with various highlight videos on the internet to prove it, he makes no apologies for being very competitive.

Below is a recap of our experience with this rising star,  and we would like to thank our partners at The Omen Agency as well as TST Empire for putting this together. Keep an ear out for the Fresh Prince of Chicago.

Got Next: Ralo The Famerican Gangster

It’s not always about the money… or is it? That’s a debate that could last a lifetime. One thing is for sure, Ralo is worth some millions and thats not up for debate. Upon his release from prison, where he found Islam, Ralo vowed to never turn back to the streets, but the streets never turned their back on Ralo. Instead, the streets maintained loyalty and got behind Ralo. So if you ask why you’d soon know that it`s because he preached a message of unity, but not only did he preach it, he lives it.

It was only about 2 years ago when buzz around town was a new up and coming rapper took $1 Million of his own street money and invested in himself. Since then, Ralo has not only successfully established himself, but also launched his own label, Famerica Records. He has maintained ties with long time friend, Young Scooter, who he credits for his introduction to Future, whom he has since collaborated with severally. Ralo has also made friends with previous foes like Young Thug who he has worked with numerous times since their reconciliation,

Fast forward to Feb 2017, when Gucci Mane announced that Ralo would be the first artist signed to his new imprint 1017 Eskimo Records. It makes perfect sense! Besides, who in their right mind would pass up the opportunity to sign one of the hottest artists coming out of Atlanta? All Ralo has needed over the last year is a machine to recognize his efforts and partner up with him.

Below, is a HiphopABCTV exclusive interview conducted with Ralo over this past weekend in Gainesville, GA, at a video shoot in memory of the late Ricko. Ralo not only shot a video but also gave a free performance in effort to raise funds to help Ricko’s family during this difficult time. When is the last time your favorite “rich rapper” did that for a fan? Or better yet, a family member?
