With lackluster reviews and weak album sales, some may wonder if there should be concerns for 2 Chainz of being of the verge of falling off. Well, as Kanye West put it in a recent interview, 2 Chainz was featured on just about everybody’s songs last year….literally he did 100 features and plus some. In this day and age of getting vast and quick dollars solely off singles and internet sales, the Atlanta native is probably still safe at this point in time. He just may be around for a little while longer. During his recent interview with Streetz 94.5 radio in Atlanta, 2 Chainz seemed cool and collective and didn’t appear to be stressed at all. He also could be found on the red carpet this past weekend at the BET HipHop Awards in Atlanta. The veteran rapper has been in the game for quite some time and most likely has reached the apex in his storied career but he still has some hits left to share so as for now be prepared to hear a lot more from him.
We all probably can remember what we were doing around the time America was enduring the devastation from September 11. But also amidst all of that, Jay Z and Nas were going at each other’s throat with a highly publicized feud which spawned some of hip hop’s most memorable lines and hottest tracks. Taken from Nas’ ‘Stillmatic’ album, ‘Every Ghetto’ was the final track off what will go down as one his most brilliant pieces of work.

With a fond ear for various genres of music J Dilla helped take Common as well as a stable of other artists to the next level. Here’s one of ‘Like Water For Chocolate’s’ soulful gems…

Who goes harder than Styles P??
With his latest album release, Styles P lets us all know that he still got bars and can stand toe-to-toe with any mc out there. The World’s Most Hardest MC Project doesn’t fall short of previous album releases from Styles P either. Busta Rhymes, on the brink of releasing his 9th studio album is still heavy with the work. He stresses the importance of staying relevant to the hip hop genre and is always ready for the next big opportunity. With a flow that is unprecedented, Busta eagerly accepts Loaded Lux’s challenge for a battle rap competition. If you follow hip hop on the mainstream and underground level as well, you’d know that Lux is nice with the wordplay and has earned his reputation as a pure beast on the mic. And amidst all this action, Busta teams up with Google Play to release his next album, Year of the Dragon, which will be distributed as a free album and is dubbed a project strictly for the fans.
“I’m feeling some kind of way about the fact that you’ve been commissioned… You’ve been blessed, you’ve been given the opportunity to do the [Aaliyah] album yet you don’t include anybody she worked with personally. What part of the game is that?”
X, who was widely known as a close friend/collaborator to the now deceased Aaliyah has been vocal about the various things pertaining to the canadian born and bred MC including his talent which X considers redundant and annoying.
“He has talent but it’s kind of redundant,” X said. “It’s kind of the same all the time, and it sounds the same to me personally. It’s an annoying sound. Like a washing machine or a dryer. I don’t even have to explain. I just don’t like what it is”

We all know that longevity in the rap game does not come easy. But for T.I., it seems as if that statement is just the opposite. He has always been an artist that gives his fans exactly what they want every time he drops an album so maybe that’s the key element to his relevance today after dropping his first album almost 10 years ago. Throughout his troubles with the law and other bumps in the road, T.I. has an impressive and well-esteemed discography and from now on will be categorized as a veteran in the hip hop game.
Hip hop producer Mike Dean, has revealed that Kanye West and Jay-Z are planning to drop a sequel to ‘Watch the Throne’. According to Dean, the making of the album process will begin as soon as Kanye puts the finishing touches on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album. This is indeed great news for fans but there’s only one thing… Jay-Z has other plans for now. Here’s Jay’s reaction when asked about the ‘Throne’ sequel album, “I thought I would be more inspired with all the new feelings and everything that I’d have to write about, but it really happened the other way. I just really wanna hang out with her. I just wanna enjoy those moments for a bit and I’m sure that feeling of music will come back to me.”
Who knows when this album will drop, but best believe fans will be eagerly anticipating that day.
