The Best In The West: Kobe Bryant Vs Kevin Durant

As we all have witnessed, the Lakers are not playing up to their normal standard, but does this mean the season is totally finished for them? Maybe so, maybe not. But would the better question be is Kobe finally being dragged down by old age or inspiration? I guess time will tell (no pun intended!). On the other hand though, it seems as though it’s one young man that is set to take over the West, and his name is Kevin Durant. A product imported from the Texas Longhorns and a true gentleman Kevin Durant has flourished into an all-around team player and only seems to be getting better each year. Recently Kobe joined the ranks of a few elite players to reach the 30,000 career points and some have even uttered him maybe being the second coming of Michael Jordan himself. That’s quite a statement considering the accolades MJ has acquired throughout his career. On the contrary, Kevin Durant isn’t backing down easily and he along with his fellow OKC teammates have already eliminated the Lakers once in the playoffs. What will become of this year’s season?? Better yet… who is really THE Best In The West?

Lakers hit the repeat button… By D Rebel

While Kobe Bryant struggled offensively from the floor most of the night, his teammates step up into their roles and provide support.

This game will likely go down as one of the most hard fought battles in history. Boston controlled the tempo for most of the game, while maintaining resistance against the persistence of the Lakers.

Kobe couldn’t find his rhythm but did come up with 15 rebounds on his defensive effort. The big three (Garnett, Pierce, Allen) chipped in equally for Boston.

Paul Pierce came up with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Garnett scored 17 points.

The Celtics had control of the game but after a late-quarter 3-pointer by Derek Fishern momentum shifted back to Lakers, who held on to win the game.
