When we look back at the history of Bad Boy Records, we now have to give Diddy his props once and for all. Even after all of the contract beefs, ‘shiny suits, etc., there’s no mistaking that Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs is on another level when speaking in terms of his vision. Let’s take a look at the recent performance during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend event. We witnessed another classic moment as Diddy, Lil Kim and The Lox came together on stage for a memorable performance of ‘All About the Benjamins‘. This is definitely a good look for NYC! In all honesty, the beloved east coast city needed this, especially for the realm of hip hop.
Even the Queensbridge legend Nasty Nas put in work for this NYC moment!!!
It’s no secret that New York hip hop has a grudge, and all of the artists who rep the city are coming back on the scene with a vengeance. Two of rap’s most noted emcees, Havoc (of Mobb Deep) and Sheek Louch (of The Lox) team up to bring us a banger for the streets. This is true gritty New York City rap in its purest form. The beat is on fire and both rappers dip back into their 90’s hip hop bag to drop some dope lines. This joint comes just in time for the winter season… lace up your Timberlands!
And while you’re at it, in case you missed this one… bump this joint too
The summer’s getting hot and The Lox are feeling the heat! In the tradition of ‘The Hangover’ blockbuster trilogy, the boys from D-Block throw a similar-type party and things get a little crazy. As Styles P, Jadakiss, and Sheek Louch are known to do, they bring quality bars and witty wordplay.
Who goes harder than Styles P??
With his latest album release, Styles P lets us all know that he still got bars and can stand toe-to-toe with any mc out there. The World’s Most Hardest MC Project doesn’t fall short of previous album releases from Styles P either. It’s apparent from just a few seconds into this album that dedication to the art of writing music still flows heavy in SP’s heart and even more through his pen.
This is one of the all-time classics that still makes the club go crazy…and this was made in the 90’s! Peep D-Block when they were still calling themselves the LOX. In the midst of Biggie’s abrupt absence and the curse of the infamous ‘shiny suits’, the 3 kids from Yonkers, NY team up with the Queen Bee and fellow Y.O. native, DMX, to make history. Every artist featured in this song was just about to hit that moment that would leave a permanent mark on our most beloved hip hop culture.
